Junior Backend Developer

Gordian Analytics is a Swiss technology company building AI-powered software for business and industrial applications. We are looking for a Junior Backend Developer to work directly with our team and help build the backend of our products.

What You'll Work On

  • Build backend APIs and services with Python
  • Work with databases and structured business data
  • Build data processing and automation workflows
  • Integrate external APIs and AI/LLM services
  • Work on data upload, validation, and processing
  • Test, debug, and continuously improve backend services

What We're Looking For

  • Strong Python fundamentals and a good understanding of backend development
  • Genuine interest in building software beyond university assignments
  • Experience with personal, university, or hobby projects that you've taken from an idea to a working prototype
  • Curiosity and a strong habit of learning new technologies independently
  • Comfortable using LLM tools to research, compare approaches, and accelerate development
  • Ability to take an unclear problem, explore several possible solutions, prototype quickly, evaluate the results, and choose a direction
  • Willingness to experiment and iterate rather than getting stuck looking for the perfect solution from the beginning
  • Good communication and ability to take ownership of a task

Nice to Have

  • FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Docker, Redis, Pandas, or experience working with AI/LLM APIs
